During this time, I have been busy coordinating the Planning of the Saratoga County Fire Police Annual training seminar. Our program this year will be a Saturday in October, I have been coordinating specific dates with DeCrescente Distributers for the Training Room, again this year. Food arrangements have already been made.
At various times during the month, I have been working on the Saratoga County Fire Police Webpage.
- I am working with our county SFI’s to develop a 90-minute Fire Police Leadership/Supervision Training Course tailored to Saratoga County Operations. It is based on the NFA Leadership in Supervision Course (N0645), Leadership Principles for the Fire Service, (Firefighter Nation) and Leadership and Professional Development in the Fire Service (FireHouse.Com).
We are also incorporating material from NYS Officers training classes and other State Fire Courses. Additionally, I am using knowledge from leadership and supervision training and Public Information Officer training from my role at the National Weather Service. We aim to complete this program by our October Seminar
We are also discussing an Active Shooter presentation with a member of the County Sherriff Department utilizing video from Active Shooter Events in Mechanicville NY and Webster NY.
